Would you like the film festival experience? All films in our International Mobile Film Festival must be shot with smartphones. We are pioneers in the mobile film industry. IMFF was launched in 2009 as a live venue film festival and a platform for anyone in the world of any age and experience level to get their foot in the door of filmmaking using cell phones as their camera.
Today, our film festival has held many film festivals and has other programs exclusive to films shot with mobile phones. While there are not professionals using their phones to shoot their films, our film festival is open to anyone. Get all the details on our website. Get the rules and submit your film. Films are now open for submissions through November 19, 2018 for short films and October 19, 2018 for feature length films. Although it is not required that you attend the film festival in San Diego to qualify, your film festival experience is increased by attending.
Check out what our film festival experience is like on our website's news page. IMFF 2018 included Hollywood celebrity Tim Russ from Star Trek Voyager who was there on opening day to give a Q&A and stayed to talk to filmmakers individually. He also took photos with the filmmakers. We also had other special guest speakers including Brian McLane from New York who shot an entire feature length (90min.) film with one iPhone and brought actor Tim Russ to the festival. Mr. Russ played a role in his film, The Killer's Requiem. There was also a red carpet experience with Star Wars Steampunk Universe escorting filmmakers on the red carpet before the awards ceremony, Q&A Panel with all attending filmmakers, a workshop and much more!
